What is PH?
Pulmonary hypertension (PH), a rare and often misdiagnosed disease, is a blood vessel disorder of the lungs in which the pressure in the pulmonary artery (the blood vessel that leads from the heart to the lungs) rises above normal levels and may become life threatening. Symptoms of PH include shortness of breath with minimal exertion, fatigue, chest pain, dizzy spells and fainting. There are many unknown causes of PH.
What is Race Against PH?
A 5K (3.1 mile) event to raise funds for the fight against pulmonary hypertension (PH) a debilitating disease which affects the heart and lungs of children and adults. There are many unknown causes of PH and there currently exists no cure. The Race Against PH was started in 2001 by a patient and her family in an effort to promote awareness about this devastating illness.
