Menlo Park Kids Triathlon 2017

Burgess Pool and Park Area
501 Laurel Street
Menlo Park, CA US 94025

The Menlo Park Kids Triathlon (“MPKT”) is a triathlon specifically for kids ages from 4 to 17 years old. A triathlon is a race that consists of a combination of three sports: swimming, cycling, and running. The kids start the race with swimming at the Burgess Pool in waves (triathlon speak for groups) of 25 to 30  kids. From the swim, they run to the transition area to put on their helmets, shoes, and anything else they need. They then mount their bikes and head out to the bike course. When the kids are done with the bike, they head back to transition to put their bike away, and head to run round Burgess Park. They finish the race in the park by crossing through the finishing chute!

Bay Area Kids Triathlon Series

Mission: To introduce the sport of triathlon to young people in our community in a safe environment. Distances are short and intended to expose our youngest triathletes to the basic elements of triathlons. We hope to counteract the negative effects of too much television and electronic activity, and encourage young boys and girls, ages 4 up to 17, to lead a healthy lifestyle and to enjoy the benefits of outdoor activities (i.e., swimming, cycling and running).

What is "Triathlon Age"?

In order keep participant ages consistant at multiple races through out the year, USAT considers your age to your age on December 31st of the current year,  a person who will be turning 8 years old anytime during the year is considered 8 years old for the entire year (even if his birthday has not passed yet.
