**5K "Fun" Run: The 5k run is for Mermaids and Mermen! The run starts on the wharf and finishes on the beach! Great for friends, family and spectators

Celebrating it's 19th year! The Mermaid Triathlon & Duathlon is the longest running women's triathlon in California. Perfect for the 1st time triathlete! Capitola offers an ocean swim around the wharf, views of the Pacific Ocean, fun bike course featuring a gradual climb into the coastal redwoods, followed by a run on the ocean bluff overlooking Capitola Village.

*Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquabike and Virtual participants receive a stylish women's cut shirt, custom finisher's medal & necklace.

*The 5k Run participants will get a "Find Your Happy Pace" medal & necklace and can choose from a Merman or Mermaid shirt from our Mermaid Apparel booth.

Customize your SWAG (Save up to $14): Registration includes a race shirt, finisher medal & necklace. If you don't want all the swag you can remove items during registration and reduce your entry fee.

Should I register for an "Individual Age-Group" the "Family & Friends" or the "Athena?"
The Family & Friends Division was developed for athletes that want to start with friends or family. This category is also for anyone who wants to do the race without the pressure of "racing" in their age group. The "Family & Friends" division allows athletes of any age to start together and is often very popular with the first time and novice athletes. Please note: awards are NOT issued for 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the "Family & Friends" division. The "Individual Age-Group" division means that you are racing against the other athletes in your age-division and we award prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The "Athena" division is for athletes 165 lbs. and over who want to race against similar athletes for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize. NOTE: There is no "Family and Friends" category for the Super Sprint or the Duathlon.
