The Great Race of Agoura was established in 1986 by a group of parents looking to raise money for their children's elementary schools. Now professionally produced and in its 30th year, The Great Race of Agoura Hills is one of the largest running events in the Los Angeles area and continues to donate to many schools in Agoura Hills and Oak Park.

The Great Race was voted as Best Half Marathon in the U.S. in by active.com. The Great Race was voted as Best Running Event in L.A. numerous years, the Don't Miss Event in L.A., Best Race Swag by Competitor Magazine, a Top 10K by Runner's World and the Best Post Race Party in L.A..
