Run in the name of Love

Welcome to Run in the Name of Love, a unique event offering runners and walkers the opportunity to honor and pay tribute to an individual who is or was a very special person in their lives.

Participants will enjoy the charm of Carmel-by-the-Sea, it’s historic sites, the unparalleled natural beauty of the course (with views of sandy white beaches, the dramatic Pacific Ocean, Point Lobos and Pebble Beach) and a memorable finish line celebration.

Plus, it’s on Father’s Day! Begin your celebration with exercise, challenge and fun! Perhaps you would like to make this a meaningful run or walk by “running in the name” of your dad.

FEATURING:

A fast, timed 5K RUN with breath-taking views!

Limited to 1000

A 2K WALK which encourages four-legged friends to participate!

Limited to 300

RUN OR WALK TO BENEFIT TWO OUTSTANDING YOUTH PROGRAMS

8:30 a.m 5K START
8:40 a.m. 2K START
9:30 a.m. AWARDS CEREMONY and RAFFLE

START LOCATION:
SUNSET CENTER, San Carlos between 8th and 9th

FINISH-LINE:
OCEAN AVENUE & SCENIC ROAD

Race Location

START LOCATION: CARMEL’S SUNSET CENTER, SAN CARLOS STREET AT NINTH AVENUE
FINISH LOCATION: DEL MAR PARKING LOT AT THE BASE OF OCEAN AVENUE.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation back to the start at Sunset Center, approximately a one mile walk up Ocean Avenue.

Awards and Raffle

Awards offered in the 5K event only. Awards will go to the top male and female finishers (based on gun time) and divisional awards go three deep in ten year age groups after 5 -11, 12-15 and 16-19. The Awards ceremony and raffle will be held at the finish at 10:00 AM.

Limits

5K open to 1,000 registrants. Must be 5 years of age or older to participate. 2K open to 300 registrants, no age limit. Dogs on leashes are welcome in the 2K only. The course will close at 10:00 AM. The finish celebration will end at 11:00 AM.
